It all started with Grandfather Javier Álvarez ​more than 60 years ago, who was one of the ​pioneers of coffee production in the Municipality ​of Anserma, Caldas, founding partner of the ​Coffee Growers Cooperative, and who has always ​seen coffee as a way of life.

Our current focus is on upholding a tradition of over 6 decades ​by enhancing the quality of our coffee, under a sustainable ​model that prioritizes environmental stewardship and ​preserving the biodiversity of our region.



Following in the footsteps of his father Javier, Hermel Álvarez ​carries on his legacy, continually striving to enhance ​production processes, establishing Finca el Danubio's coffee as ​one of the region's finest, earning numerous accolades at the ​regional level.


Currently, El Danubio produces Castillo, Pink Bourbon and ​Gesha varieties.
